Primary Functions
Assist a range of small businesses to support computer systems based on Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server, and Microsoft's .NET platform. Work extensively with client's network support group or provide comprehensive IS outsourcing. Required areas of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, Protection, server monitoring, and network architecture.

Duties
Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer systems. Operate in person and offsite to diagnose and fix both urgent and chronic issues concerning availability, protection, throughput, accessibility, and overall capability.
Install, setup and validate MS Windows-based program servers and Microsoft .NET servers. Set up and integrate Windows 2K, Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista desktop computers. Setup and analyze various network services and applications.
Design information technology architectures and security policies that promote customer's business growth.
Service and manage Microsoft Outlook with backoffice MS Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and high-speed Internet access.
Design and deploy migrations to Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003 Server.
Maximize network uptime and capacity via non-stop configuration, efficient network architecture, and automated server monitoring.
Produce accurate documentation of the network as it grows.
Specify and procure new server and communications equipment and/or software to accommodate expansion and new applications.

Required Professional Background
MCSE, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and communications skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick workarounds to network problems.
Ability to resolve software issues such as workstation application integration issues, server issues, data service problems, and network access problems.
Open to trade information with clients and coworkers and to escalate problems to Progent specialists when necessary.
Ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, delivering reliable follow-through and using online connectivity and wireless communications. Experience with remote server monitoring utilities and remote analysis techniques.
Physical Capability
Availability to respond to off-hour network emergencies while on extended call.
Capability to pick up, move, and rearrange all components of user workstations, network appliances, printers and accessories.
