Main Activities

Assist a range of small businesses to support information systems powered by Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, MS Windows 2008 or 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and 2003, and Microsoft's .NET servers. Cooperate extensively with client's IS group or provide full-service IT outsourcing. Required fields of mastery include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, security, network monitoring, and system architecture.

Cooperates Closely with:
Chief Executive of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and services sales managers, as well as Chief Information Officers and top management of small company customers in Northern California, and select cities throughout the U.S.


Responsibilities

Support and repair MS Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server-powered computer environments. Operate on-site and offsite to diagnose and resolve both urgent and chronic problems concerning uptime, security, performance, accessibility, and general capability.

Install, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-based program servers and MS .NET servers. Configure and integrate MS Windows 7, Microsoft Windows XP, and MS Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and evaluate various IT utilities and applications.

Create IT infrastructures and security policies that support client's company growth.

Support and manage MS Outlook client with backoffice Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and fast Internet access.

Design and implement upgrades to MS Windows 7, XP and Vista, MS Windows 2008 or 2003 Server, Active Directory, and MS Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server.

Optimize system reliability and throughput through non-stop configuration, smart system infrastructure, and proactive server monitoring.

Produce on-going documentation of the network as it grows.

Specify and order additional processor and communications equipment and/or software to support growth and new applications.


Qualifications/
Schooling

Minimum Professional Background
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic skills and communications skills, and the experience to come up with quick workarounds to technical issues.

Understand how to to resolve software problems such as desktop program integration issues, server trouble, data service difficulties, and network access problems.

Open to exchange knowledge with customers and coworkers and to escalate problems to additional engineers when appropriate.

Ability to operate effectively in a virtual office environment, delivering consistent follow-through and using offsite connectivity and mobile communications. Experience with automated network monitoring tools and remote repair methodologies.

Physical Requirements
Availability to respond to off-hour network emergencies when on extended station.

Ability to pick up, move, and rearrange all parts of user desktops, network hardware, and accessories.
