Primary Functions

Assist a variety of small and midsize companies to support information systems powered by Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, MS Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server, and Microsoft's .NET servers. Cooperate closely with customer's IT group or deliver comprehensive IT outsourced services. Required fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory design, security, network monitoring, and network infrastructure.

Cooperates Closely with:
Chief Executive of Progent, Progent MCSEs and technical sales staff, as well as CIO and senior executives of small firm clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, and key cities across the United States


Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2008 or 2003 Server-powered IT systems. Work in person and offsite to diagnose and resolve both urgent and chronic issues related to reliability, protection, capacity, accessibility, and overall capability.

Deploy, setup and integrate Windows-based application servers and Microsoft .NET servers. Set up and deploy MS Windows 7, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation environments. Setup and analyze various information services and applications.

Create network architectures and protections strategies that promote customer's business goals.

Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with backoffice MS Exchange Server, Microsoft Office applications, phone communications, and high-speed Internet connection.

Design and deploy upgrades to Microsoft Windows 7, XP and Vista, Windows 2008 or 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and 2003.

Optimize network reliability and performance through fault-tolerant configuration, smart system infrastructure, and proactive network monitoring.

Create up-to-date records of the environment as it expands.

Identify and procure new server and networking equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and new functions.


Required Professional Experience
MCSE, strong troubleshooting and problem isolation ability and interpersonal skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick workarounds to technical problems.

Ability to resolve application issues including PC program compatibility issues, server trouble, data service difficulties, and connectivity problems.

Willingness to exchange knowledge with customers and colleagues and to escalate problems to Progent specialists when necessary.

Must be able to to operate effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, providing reliable follow-up and using online connectivity and wireless devices. Familiarity with automated server monitoring programs and remote repair methodologies.

Physical Capability
Ability to react to off-hour technical crises when on emergency call.

Ability to pick up, carry, and reposition all parts of client desktops, network hardware, and peripherals.
