Essential Activities

Help a range of small and midsize businesses to support information networks powered by Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, MS Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server, MS Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server, and .NET technology. Cooperate extensively with client's IT staff or provide comprehensive IT outsourced services. Key areas of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, Protection, server monitoring, and system architecture.

President of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and services sales staff, plus Chief Information Officers and senior management of small business clients in Northern California, and select areas across the United States


Duties

Support and repair Windows Server 2008 and 2003-based IT networks. Operate on-site and offsite to analyze and fix both emergency and chronic issues concerning availability, security, throughput, connectivity, and overall capability.

Deploy, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-powered program servers and .NET servers. Set up and deploy MS Windows 7, Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and evaluate a variety of network services and applications.

Plan information technology infrastructures and protections policies that support customer's company growth.

Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with backoffice Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office applications, telephony, and high-speed Internet connection.

Plan and implement upgrades to Microsoft Windows 7, XP and Vista, MS Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server.

Maximize system reliability and capacity via non-stop configuration, smart network architecture, and automated network monitoring.

Create accurate documentation of the environment as it expands.

Specify and procure additional processor and networking hardware and/or software to support growth and additional functions.


Qualifications/
Education

Minimum Work Background
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, strong analysis and problem isolation skills and communications skills, and the experience to come up with temporary workarounds to network issues.

Ability to resolve application issues such as desktop program compatibility issues, host system issues, data service difficulties, and connectivity issues.

Open to trade knowledge with customers and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.

Must be able to to operate effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering consistent follow-through and using online access and mobile devices. Experience with automated network monitoring tools and remote repair methodologies.

Physical Requirements
Willingness to respond to off-hour technical emergencies while on extended call.

Capability to lift, move, and rearrange all parts of user desktops, network hardware, and peripherals.
