Main Functions

Assist a variety of small businesses to support computer systems powered by MS Windows 7, Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, MS Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server, and .NET technology. Cooperate extensively with customer's network support group or deliver comprehensive IS outsourcing. Key areas of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, Protection, network monitoring, and network architecture.

President of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and services sales managers, as well as CIO and senior executives of small business clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, and select cities throughout the United States


Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Microsoft Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server-based IT networks. Work on-site and remotely to analyze and fix both urgent and chronic problems concerning uptime, protection, performance, connectivity, and general functionality.

Deploy, configure and validate Windows-powered application servers and MS .NET servers. Set up and deploy MS Windows 7, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista desktop computers. Setup and analyze a variety of information services and applications.

Create information technology architectures and protections strategies that support customer's company goals.

Support and manage MS Outlook client with backoffice Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and broadband Internet connection.

Plan and implement migrations to Microsoft Windows 7, XP and Vista, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server.

Maximize system uptime and capacity via fault-tolerant topology, smart network infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.

Create accurate records of the environment as it evolves.

Identify and order new processor and networking hardware and/or programs to accommodate expansion and new functions.


Experience/
Education

Required Professional Experience
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability and people skills, and the ability to implement temporary patches to network issues.

Ability to troubleshoot application problems including desktop program configuration issues, server trouble, data service problems, and connectivity problems.

Open to trade knowledge with clients and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.

Ability to work efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering reliable follow-up and utilizing online access and wireless communications. Familiarity with remote network monitoring utilities and remote repair methodologies.

Physical Capability
Willingness to react to off-hour network emergencies when on emergency station.

Ability to lift, carry, and reposition all components of user desktops, network hardware, and accessories.
