Essential Functions
Work with a variety of small and midsize companies to support computer networks powered by MS Windows Vista, Windows XP, MS Windows Server 2003, MS Exchange Server 2003, and Microsoft's .NET technology. Cooperate closely with client's IT staff or deliver full-service IS outsourcing. Key fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, Protection, server monitoring, and system architecture.

Duties
Support and repair MS Windows Server 2003-powered IT networks. Operate in person and remotely to analyze and fix both emergency and chronic issues related to availability, protection, capacity, connectivity, and general functionality.
Install, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-based application hosts and Microsoft .NET servers. Configure and deploy Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and evaluate various network services and application programs.
Design network architectures and protections policies that promote client's business growth.
Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with backoffice Exchange Server, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and high-speed Internet access.
Plan and deploy upgrades to Windows XP and MS Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server.
Optimize network availability and throughput through fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and automated server monitoring.
Produce up-to-date records of the environment as it evolves.
Identify and procure new server and networking equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and additional applications.

Education
Minimum Professional Background
MCSE, strong troubleshooting and problem isolation ability and people skills, and the ability to come up with temporary workarounds to technical problems.
Ability to troubleshoot application issues such as workstation application configuration issues, server issues, data service issues, and network access problems.
Willingness to trade knowledge with clients and colleagues and to escalate issues to Progent specialists when necessary.
Must be able to to work effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing online access and wireless devices. Experience with remote server monitoring software and remote analysis methodologies.
Physical Capability
Availability to respond to off-hour network emergencies while on extended call.
Ability to pick up, move, and rearrange all components of client workstations, network appliances, and peripherals.
