Essential Activities

Help a range of small companies to support IT systems based on Windows 7, MS Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server, and .NET platform. Cooperate extensively with client's IT staff or provide comprehensive IT outsourcing. Key fields of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, Protection, network monitoring, and network infrastructure.

CEO of Progent, Progent MCSEs and technical sales managers, plus CIO and top executives of small firm customers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and key cities throughout the United States


Duties

Support and troubleshoot MS Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003-powered IT systems. Operate on-site and offsite to diagnose and fix both urgent and chronic problems concerning reliability, protection, performance, connectivity, and overall functionality.

Install, setup and integrate Microsoft Windows-powered program hosts and Microsoft .NET servers. Configure and deploy Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows XP, and MS Windows Vista desktop environments. Setup and analyze a variety of IT services and applications.

Plan information technology infrastructures and protections strategies that support customer's business growth.

Service and manage Microsoft Outlook client with back-end Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and high-speed Internet connection.

Design and deploy upgrades to MS Windows 7, XP and Vista, MS Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server.

Optimize system availability and performance through fault-tolerant topology, efficient system infrastructure, and proactive network monitoring.

Produce accurate records of the environment as it grows.

Specify and order new processor and communications equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and new applications.


Qualifications/
Education

Minimum Professional Experience
MCSE, strong troubleshooting and problem isolation ability and interpersonal skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick workarounds to technical issues.

Understand how to to troubleshoot software issues such as workstation application compatibility issues, host system problems, data service problems, and connectivity issues.

Willingness to exchange knowledge with clients and colleagues and to escalate issues to Progent specialists when necessary.

Ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing offsite connectivity and wireless devices. Familiarity with automated server monitoring utilities and remote repair techniques.

Physical Requirements
Ability to react to off-hour technical emergencies when on extended call.

Capability to pick up, move, and rearrange all components of user workstations, network appliances, and peripherals.
