Main Functions

Work with a variety of small and midsize firms to support information environments based on Windows 7, MS Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server, and .NET servers. Cooperate closely with customer's IS group or provide full-service IS outsourced services. Key fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory design, Protection, server monitoring, and network infrastructure.

President of Progent, Progent MCSEs and technical sales managers, as well as CIO and top executives of small company clients in Northern California, and key cities throughout the U.S.


Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2003-based computer environments. Operate on-site and remotely to diagnose and fix both emergency and lingering issues concerning reliability, protection, capacity, connectivity, and overall functionality.

Deploy, setup and integrate Microsoft Windows-powered program servers and Microsoft .NET servers. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista desktop environments. Setup and evaluate a variety of IT services and applications.

Plan information technology architectures and protections strategies that support customer's company goals.

Support and manage MS Outlook with back-end Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office applications, telephony, and fast Internet connection.

Plan and deploy upgrades to MS Windows 7, XP and Vista, MS Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange 2007 Server and 2003 Server.

Optimize system availability and performance via non-stop topology, smart system architecture, and automated server monitoring.

Produce up-to-date documentation of the network as it grows.

Identify and procure new server and communications equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and additional functions.


Experience/
Schooling

Required Work Experience
MCSE, strong analysis and problem isolation skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to come up with quick patches to technical problems.

Understand how to to troubleshoot application problems such as workstation program integration issues, host system trouble, data service problems, and network access issues.

Open to exchange knowledge with customers and colleagues and to escalate problems to Progent specialists when necessary.

Ability to work effectively in a virtual office environment, delivering consistent follow-up and utilizing online connectivity and mobile technology. Familiarity with automated server monitoring tools and remote repair techniques.

Physical Capability
Availability to react to off-hour network emergencies when on emergency station.

Capability to lift, carry, and rearrange all parts of user workstations, network hardware, printers and accessories.
