Primary Functions

Help a range of small firms to maintain information networks based on Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, MS Windows Server 2008 and 2003, MS Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server, and .NET technology. Cooperate extensively with customer's network support staff or provide comprehensive IS outsourced services. Required fields of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, Protection, network monitoring, and system architecture.

Chief Executive of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and services sales staff, plus Chief Information Officers and top management of small firm customers in Northern California, and select cities across the United States


Duties

Support and repair MS Windows Server 2008 and 2003-based IT systems. Operate on-site and offsite to diagnose and resolve both emergency and lingering issues related to reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and overall capability.

Install, configure and validate Windows-based application servers and MS .NET servers. Configure and deploy Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation computers. Setup and evaluate a variety of IT services and application programs.

Plan information technology architectures and security strategies that promote customer's company growth.

Support and administer Microsoft Outlook client with backoffice Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and broadband Internet access.

Plan and deploy migrations to Windows 7, XP and Vista, Microsoft Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and MS Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server.

Maximize system reliability and capacity via fault-tolerant topology, smart system infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.

Create accurate records of the environment as it grows.

Identify and procure additional processor and communications hardware and/or programs to accommodate expansion and new applications.


Qualifications/
Schooling

Minimum Work Experience
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, proven analysis and diagnostic skills and people skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick workarounds to network issues.

Understand how to to resolve software problems including PC program compatibility issues, host system trouble, data service problems, and network access issues.

Willingness to trade information with clients and colleagues and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.

Must be able to to work efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing offsite connectivity and mobile technology. Experience with remote server monitoring software and remote repair methodologies.

Physical Capability
Ability to respond to off-hour technical emergencies while on extended call.

Ability to pick up, carry, and reposition all components of user desktops, network appliances, and accessories.
