Essential Functions
Help a variety of small firms to support computer environments powered by Microsoft Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, MS Exchange 2003 Server, and Microsoft's .NET technology. Work extensively with client's network support staff or provide comprehensive IS outsourced services. Required fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, security, server monitoring, and system infrastructure.

Duties
Maintain and repair MS Windows 2003 Server-based IT systems. Work on-site and remotely to diagnose and resolve both urgent and lingering issues related to reliability, protection, performance, connectivity, and general functionality.
Deploy, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-powered application servers and .NET servers. Configure and deploy Windows 2000, MS Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista desktop computers. Configure and evaluate a variety of information utilities and application programs.
Design network architectures and security strategies that promote customer's company goals.
Service and administer Microsoft Outlook client with backoffice Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and fast Internet access.
Design and deploy upgrades to Windows XP and MS Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Exchange Server 2003.
Maximize network reliability and performance through non-stop topology, smart system architecture, and proactive network monitoring.
Create up-to-date documentation of the environment as it expands.
Identify and order additional server and networking equipment and/or programs to support expansion and new applications.

Minimum Work Experience
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, strong analysis and problem isolation ability and interpersonal skills, and the knowledge to implement quick workarounds to technical problems.
Understand how to to troubleshoot software issues including desktop program integration issues, server trouble, data service difficulties, and connectivity problems.
Willingness to exchange information with customers and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when appropriate.
Must be able to to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing consistent follow-through and using offsite access and wireless devices. Experience with remote server monitoring utilities and remote repair techniques.
Physical Requirements
Willingness to respond to off-hour network emergencies while on extended call.
Ability to lift, carry, and rearrange all parts of user desktops, network appliances, and accessories.
