Main Functions
Assist a variety of small businesses to maintain computer environments powered by Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, MS Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and Microsoft's .NET technology. Work extensively with client's IS staff or deliver full-service IS outsourced services. Key fields of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, security, server monitoring, and network infrastructure.

Duties
Support and repair MS Windows Server 2003-based IT environments. Work on-site and remotely to diagnose and fix both urgent and chronic problems concerning availability, protection, performance, accessibility, and general functionality.
Install, configure and integrate MS Windows-powered program hosts and MS .NET servers. Configure and deploy Windows 2000, MS Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation environments. Configure and analyze various information services and application programs.
Design information technology architectures and protections strategies that promote customer's business growth.
Service and manage Microsoft Outlook with back-end Exchange Server, MS Office suite, telephony, and fast Internet access.
Design and deploy migrations to Windows XP and Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server.
Maximize network uptime and performance through non-stop topology, efficient system infrastructure, and proactive server monitoring.
Produce accurate documentation of the network as it expands.
Specify and order new server and communications hardware and/or software to support growth and new applications.

Schooling
Required Professional Background
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, proven analysis and diagnostic skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to come up with temporary workarounds to network issues.
Ability to resolve software issues such as desktop application integration issues, host system trouble, data service issues, and network access issues.
Willingness to exchange information with customers and colleagues and to escalate problems to additional engineers when appropriate.
Must be able to to work effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, providing reliable follow-up and utilizing remote access and wireless communications. Experience with remote network monitoring software and remote troubleshooting methodologies.
Physical Capability
Willingness to react to off-hour network emergencies when on extended call.
Ability to lift, move, and rearrange all parts of user workstations, network appliances, and peripherals.
