Progent is seeking experienced Sr. Microsoft information technology consultants in the San Francisco Bay Area to help a variety of small and midsize organizations to maintain IT environments powered by Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008, and Microsoft Exchange 2007 to 2016. Key areas of knowledge include network architecture, AD design and troubleshooting, Exchange-based email, security, and server monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered IT environments
  • Operate onsite and online to analyze and fix both urgent and lingering problems related to reliability, protection, capacity, connectivity, and general functionality
  • Deploy, setup and debug applications on Microsoft Windows Servers
  • Deploy, setup Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 desktops and notebooks
  • Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
  • Design information technology topologies including virtualized environments and private/dedicated/hybrid cloud models
  • Support and manage Microsoft Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange, MS Office suite, telephony, and Internet connectivity
  • Plan and carry out updates to MS desktop OS, Windows Server, AD, and Exchange
  • Design and validate protection policies such as on-premises high availability, resilience, backup/restore and AV as well as offsite or cloud-based disaster recovery
  • Efficient network design and proactive health monitoring


Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ yearsí background in PC, server management and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, device setup, problem identification and resolution)
  • 5+ years consulting experience
  • Ability to debug application problems such as workstation program compatibility problems, server problems, data service problems, and connectivity problems
  • Background in business productivity application assistance (Microsoft products)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a virtual office setting, providing reliable follow-through and utilizing online access and wireless communication tools
  • Operates independently and shows high level of responsibility and drive
  • Has a working knowledge of network layers 1 through 7 and excellent debugging skills in L1-L4

Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP:EA)
