Essential Activities

Help a range of small companies to support IT systems based on Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, MS Windows 2008 or 2003 Server, MS Exchange Server 2007 and 2003, and Microsoft's .NET technology. Work closely with client's IT group or deliver full-service IT outsourced services. Key fields of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, Protection, server monitoring, and network infrastructure.

Chief Executive of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and technical sales managers, as well as Chief Information Officers and senior executives of small business clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, and select cities throughout the U.S.


Duties

Support and troubleshoot MS Windows 2008 or 2003 Server-powered IT environments. Work in person and remotely to analyze and resolve both emergency and chronic issues concerning uptime, security, throughput, accessibility, and general functionality.

Install, setup and validate Windows-powered application servers and MS .NET servers. Set up and deploy Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation computers. Setup and analyze various IT utilities and applications.

Design network architectures and protections strategies that promote customer's company growth.

Service and manage Microsoft Outlook client with backoffice Exchange Server, MS Office suite, phone communications, and fast Internet connection.

Design and deploy upgrades to Windows 7, XP and Vista, Windows Server 2008 and 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server.

Maximize network reliability and capacity through zero-downtime topology, smart network architecture, and proactive network monitoring.

Produce up-to-date records of the network as it expands.

Specify and order new processor and networking equipment and/or programs to support expansion and new applications.


Qualifications/
Schooling

Required Professional Experience
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic ability and people skills, and the experience to implement temporary patches to technical problems.

Understand how to to resolve software problems including PC program integration issues, host system problems, data service difficulties, and network access problems.

Open to exchange information with clients and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when appropriate.

Must be able to to operate efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering reliable follow-through and utilizing offsite access and mobile technology. Experience with automated server monitoring software and remote troubleshooting techniques.

Physical Capability
Ability to react to off-hour technical emergencies when on emergency call.

Ability to pick up, move, and rearrange all components of user workstations, network hardware, and peripherals.
