Essential Activities
Work with a range of small and midsize firms to support IT systems powered by Windows Vista, Windows XP, Microsoft Windows 2K or 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and .NET platform. Cooperate closely with client's IT group or deliver comprehensive IS outsourcing. Key fields of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, Protection, server monitoring, and system architecture.

President of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and technical sales staff, as well as CIO and top executives of small and midsize business clients in Northern California, and key areas throughout the United States
Duties
Support and troubleshoot Windows 2003 Server-based computer systems. Work on-site and offsite to diagnose and fix both urgent and chronic problems related to uptime, security, performance, accessibility, and overall functionality.
Install, setup and validate Microsoft Windows-based program hosts and .NET servers. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 2000, MS Windows XP, and MS Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and evaluate various information utilities and application programs.
Create IT infrastructures and security policies that promote customer's company goals.
Support and manage MS Outlook with back-end MS Exchange Server, MS Office applications, telephony, and fast Internet connection.
Plan and deploy upgrades to Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange Server 2003.
Maximize system uptime and capacity through non-stop topology, smart network infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.
Produce up-to-date records of the network as it grows.
Specify and order additional server and networking equipment and/or programs to accommodate growth and additional applications.

Education
Required Work Background
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to come up with quick patches to network problems.
Ability to resolve software issues including desktop application configuration issues, host system trouble, data service difficulties, and network access problems.
Open to trade information with clients and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when appropriate.
Ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, delivering reliable follow-up and using online connectivity and wireless communications. Familiarity with automated server monitoring utilities and remote analysis methodologies.
Physical Capability
Ability to respond to off-hour technical crises while on emergency call.
Capability to pick up, move, and rearrange all components of client workstations, network hardware, and accessories.
