Essential Functions
Assist a range of small firms to maintain information networks powered by MS Windows Vista, MS Windows XP, MS Windows Server 2003, MS Exchange Server 2003, and .NET servers. Cooperate extensively with customer's IS staff or deliver full-service IT outsourced services. Key fields of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, Protection, server monitoring, and network architecture.

Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot MS Windows 2003 Server-powered IT environments. Work on-site and remotely to diagnose and resolve both urgent and chronic problems concerning reliability, protection, performance, connectivity, and general functionality.
Install, configure and validate MS Windows-powered application servers and .NET servers. Set up and deploy Windows 2K, Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation computers. Setup and evaluate a variety of information utilities and applications.
Plan network infrastructures and security policies that promote customer's business growth.
Service and administer MS Outlook client with back-end MS Exchange Server, MS Office applications, phone communications, and fast Internet connection.
Design and implement upgrades to MS Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
Maximize system uptime and throughput via fault-tolerant topology, smart system infrastructure, and proactive network monitoring.
Produce accurate documentation of the environment as it evolves.
Identify and procure additional server and networking equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and new applications.

Required Work Experience
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic ability and people skills, and the knowledge to implement temporary patches to network problems.
Understand how to to troubleshoot application problems such as desktop application compatibility issues, host system problems, data service issues, and network access problems.
Willingness to trade information with clients and coworkers and to escalate issues to Progent specialists when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing remote connectivity and wireless communications. Familiarity with remote server monitoring tools and remote troubleshooting methodologies.
Physical Requirements
Availability to respond to off-hour technical emergencies when on extended station.
Capability to pick up, carry, and reposition all parts of client desktops, network hardware, and peripherals.
