Essential Functions
Work with a variety of small and midsize businesses to maintain computer systems powered by Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, MS Exchange 2003 Server, and .NET servers. Work extensively with client's IS group or provide comprehensive IS outsourced services. Required areas of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, Protection, server monitoring, and system architecture.

Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based IT environments. Work in person and remotely to diagnose and fix both emergency and lingering problems related to uptime, protection, capacity, accessibility, and overall capability.
Install, configure and validate Windows-powered program servers and Microsoft .NET servers. Configure and integrate MS Windows 2K, Windows XP, and Windows Vista workstation computers. Configure and analyze a variety of network utilities and applications.
Design network architectures and security strategies that promote client's business growth.
Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with back-end Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and broadband Internet connection.
Design and deploy upgrades to Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and MS Exchange 2003 Server.
Maximize network availability and capacity through fault-tolerant topology, smart network infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.
Create up-to-date records of the network as it grows.
Specify and order new processor and communications hardware and/or software to support expansion and new functions.

Minimum Work Experience
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic ability and people skills, and the experience to come up with temporary patches to technical problems.
Understand how to to resolve application problems including PC program integration issues, host system issues, data service problems, and connectivity issues.
Willingness to trade information with clients and colleagues and to escalate problems to additional engineers when appropriate.
Ability to work efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering reliable follow-up and using online access and mobile communications. Familiarity with automated server monitoring tools and remote analysis methodologies.
Physical Capability
Ability to respond to off-hour technical emergencies when on emergency call.
Capability to lift, move, and rearrange all components of client desktops, network hardware, and peripherals.
