Primary Functions
Assist a range of small and midsize firms to maintain computer networks based on MS Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2K or 2003 Server, MS Exchange 2003 Server, and .NET platform. Work extensively with customer's network support staff or provide comprehensive IS outsourcing. Key areas of mastery include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, security, server monitoring, and network architecture.

Duties
Maintain and repair MS Windows 2003 Server-powered IT environments. Operate on-site and remotely to analyze and resolve both urgent and lingering problems concerning uptime, protection, throughput, connectivity, and overall capability.
Deploy, configure and integrate Microsoft Windows-based program servers and MS .NET servers. Set up and integrate MS Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, and Windows Vista desktop environments. Setup and analyze a variety of network utilities and application programs.
Design IT architectures and protections policies that support client's business goals.
Service and administer MS Outlook client with back-end Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office applications, telephony, and broadband Internet connection.
Plan and deploy migrations to Windows XP and Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server.
Optimize network availability and throughput via fault-tolerant configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring.
Produce up-to-date documentation of the environment as it grows.
Identify and order new processor and networking equipment and/or software to support growth and additional functions.

Education
Minimum Work Experience
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic skills and communications skills, and the experience to come up with quick patches to network issues.
Ability to troubleshoot software issues such as workstation application configuration issues, host system problems, data service issues, and connectivity issues.
Willingness to trade information with clients and coworkers and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.
Ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering reliable follow-up and utilizing offsite connectivity and mobile communications. Familiarity with automated network monitoring utilities and remote troubleshooting methodologies.
Physical Requirements
Willingness to react to off-hour technical emergencies while on extended call.
Ability to pick up, move, and reposition all parts of user desktops, network hardware, printers and accessories.
