Main Functions
Help a range of small and midsize firms to maintain information networks powered by MS Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and Microsoft's .NET servers. Cooperate extensively with client's IT staff or provide comprehensive IT outsourced services. Key fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory design, security, network monitoring, and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Support and troubleshoot Windows Server 2003-powered computer networks. Operate in person and remotely to analyze and fix both urgent and lingering problems concerning availability, protection, capacity, connectivity, and overall functionality.
Install, configure and validate MS Windows-powered program hosts and MS .NET servers. Set up and integrate Windows 2K, Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista workstation computers. Setup and evaluate various network services and application programs.
Plan network infrastructures and security policies that support client's company goals.
Service and administer MS Outlook with back-end Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office applications, telephony, and broadband Internet access.
Plan and deploy upgrades to Microsoft Windows XP and MS Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server.
Optimize network availability and capacity via fault-tolerant topology, smart network architecture, and automated network monitoring.
Produce accurate records of the environment as it grows.
Identify and order additional server and communications equipment and/or software to accommodate growth and additional functions.

Required Professional Background
Microsoft Certified System Engineer, proven troubleshooting and problem isolation skills and interpersonal skills, and the knowledge to come up with quick patches to network issues.
Understand how to to troubleshoot software problems including workstation program compatibility issues, server trouble, data service difficulties, and connectivity problems.
Open to exchange knowledge with customers and coworkers and to escalate issues to Progent specialists when necessary.
Ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing offsite connectivity and wireless technology. Experience with remote server monitoring programs and remote repair methodologies.
Physical Requirements
Willingness to react to off-hour technical emergencies while on extended station.
Ability to lift, carry, and reposition all components of client desktops, network hardware, printers and accessories.
