Progent is seeking a motivated person to help manage background summaries sent to Progent by job applicants. The Resume Screener will work at a home office and retrieve resumes sent by email and transfer the resumes into a dedicated application tracking system. The Job Application Screener will consolidate all correspondence submitted by job applicants, confirm that all relevant data is properly imported into Progent's resume database, check that industry certifications are current, and pre-qualify job applicants by giving each one a preliminary ranking.

Essential Activities

The Job Application Screener is a work-at-home job that takes approximately 20 hours per week. The Resume Screener's basic responsibility is to do an initial filter on each resume submitted to Progent, which includes applications for engineering, administrative, sales, and marketing positions. The Resume Screener checks that all work applications and related documents are properly imported into Progent's specialized application management database, that all necessary information has been supplied, and that all claimed industry credentials are valid. The Job Application Screener will give a preliminary ranking to each applicant to streamline the hiring process for Progent's human resources team.

Interacts Extensively with:
Human Resources staff tasked with maintaining Progent's resume database

Job Duties

Responsibilities include:
  • Consolidate all job application information sent to Progent. Each applicant can send any number of messages and attached files, and the submitted files may be in any format.
  • Check that all necessary information has been included by every job seeker.
  • Transfer all resume data into Progent's specialized hiring database and confirm that all information is accurately copied and correctly assigned.
  • Verify that all claimed technical credentials are published and current.
  • Score resumes according to defined criteria in areas of work history, professional look and feel of cover letter and resume, accreditations earned, and general work skills.
  • Work with Progent's HR staff to help enhance the efficiency of Progent's job application database.

Five years of background in human resources and 2 years of background working with resumes
