Main Activities

Help a variety of small and midsize companies to maintain IT environments based on Windows 7, MS Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 and 2003, MS Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server, and .NET technology. Work closely with client's IT group or provide comprehensive IT outsourced services. Key areas of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory design, Protection, server monitoring, and network infrastructure.

Cooperates Closely with:
CEO of Progent, Progent MCSEs and technical sales staff, plus Chief Information Officers and top management of small and midsize firm customers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and key areas throughout the United States


Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server 2008 and 2003-powered IT environments. Operate on-site and remotely to diagnose and resolve both emergency and lingering problems concerning availability, protection, throughput, connectivity, and general functionality.

Deploy, setup and integrate Microsoft Windows-powered program hosts and MS .NET servers. Set up and integrate Windows 7, MS Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and evaluate a variety of IT utilities and application programs.

Design information technology infrastructures and protections policies that promote customer's company goals.

Support and manage MS Outlook client with backoffice MS Exchange Server, MS Office suite, phone communications, and fast Internet access.

Design and implement migrations to Windows 7, XP and Vista, MS Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, and MS Exchange 2007 and 2003 Server.

Optimize network availability and throughput via fault-tolerant configuration, efficient system architecture, and automated network monitoring.

Create accurate documentation of the network as it expands.

Specify and procure new server and networking hardware and/or software to accommodate growth and additional functions.


Minimum Work Experience
MCSE, strong troubleshooting and problem isolation ability and people skills, and the experience to come up with quick patches to technical issues.

Ability to resolve application issues including desktop program configuration issues, server trouble, data service difficulties, and network access problems.

Open to trade knowledge with clients and colleagues and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.

Must be able to to work effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering reliable follow-through and utilizing remote access and wireless devices. Experience with automated network monitoring programs and remote troubleshooting techniques.

Physical Capability
Willingness to respond to off-hour technical crises when on emergency station.

Capability to pick up, carry, and rearrange all components of user workstations, network appliances, and accessories.
