Primary Activities
Assist a variety of small companies to maintain information networks based on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2K or 2003 Server, MS Exchange Server 2003, and .NET servers. Work closely with client's IT staff or deliver comprehensive IT outsourced services. Key fields of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, Protection, network monitoring, and system infrastructure.

CEO of Progent, Progent Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers and services sales managers, as well as Chief Information Officers and senior executives of small and midsize business customers in the San Francisco Bay Area, and key areas throughout the U.S.
Duties
Support and repair Microsoft Windows 2003 Server-based IT networks. Operate in person and offsite to analyze and fix both emergency and chronic issues related to uptime, protection, capacity, accessibility, and general functionality.
Install, configure and validate Windows-powered program hosts and .NET servers. Configure and integrate MS Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, and Windows Vista desktop environments. Configure and analyze various network utilities and application programs.
Plan IT architectures and security strategies that promote client's company growth.
Support and manage MS Outlook with backoffice Exchange Server, MS Office applications, phone communications, and broadband Internet connection.
Plan and implement upgrades to MS Windows XP and MS Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003 Server.
Optimize system uptime and performance via fault-tolerant configuration, efficient system architecture, and proactive network monitoring.
Create up-to-date documentation of the environment as it grows.
Identify and order new server and communications hardware and/or software to support growth and additional applications.
Experience/
Education
Required Work Background
MCSE, proven analysis and diagnostic skills and interpersonal skills, and the ability to come up with quick patches to network issues.
Understand how to to troubleshoot software problems such as workstation application compatibility issues, server issues, data service issues, and connectivity problems.
Open to trade information with clients and colleagues and to escalate issues to additional engineers when necessary.
Must be able to to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing consistent follow-through and utilizing online access and mobile technology. Familiarity with remote network monitoring software and remote repair techniques.
Physical Capability
Ability to respond to off-hour technical crises when on emergency station.
Capability to lift, carry, and rearrange all parts of user workstations, network hardware, and peripherals.
