Progent is looking for experienced Sr. Microsoft information technology consultants in the New York Metro Area, Los Angeles, and Pittsburg PA to assist a variety of small businesses to maintain networks powered by Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008, and Exchange 2007 to 2016. Important fields of knowledge include system infrastructure, AD design and repair, Exchange-based messaging, security, and server monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-based networks
  • Operate onsite and online to identify and fix urgent and lingering problems associated with availability, security, capacity, connectivity, and general productivity
  • Deploy, setup and troubleshoot applications on Windows Servers
  • Deploy and integrate Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
  • Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
  • Plan IT topologies including virtualized infrastructures and private/dedicated/hybrid cloud designs
  • Maintain and manage Microsoft Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office and Office 365, telephony, and Internet access
  • Plan and carry out upgrades to Microsoft desktop operating system, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange
  • Develop and test security policies such as onsite high availability, resilience, backups and anti-virus plus offsite or cloud-based disaster recovery
  • Efficient network design and 24x7 server monitoring and alerting


Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience in desktop, server management and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, device setup, problem isolation and repair)
  • 5+ years consulting experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot application issues such as workstation program compatibility problems, server issues, data service issues, and connectivity issues
  • Experience in business software support (Microsoft products)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, delivering consistent follow-up and using online access and wireless communication technology
  • Works without supervision and demonstrates strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Possess a reasonable understanding of network layers 1 through 7 and excellent debugging skills in L1-L4
Credentials Required
Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and/or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP:EA)
