Essential Activities

Assist a range of small and midsize company clients to maintain IT systems online, utilizing state-of-the-art technology such as automated monitoring and virtual office connections. Cooperate closely via phone with customer's IS group to provide complete outsourced services. Key fields of in-depth knowledge include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, protection, network monitoring, and system architecture. The Senior Remote Service Specialist will troubleshoot software problems including PC program compatibility issues, server problems, data service issues, and connectivity issues, without physical access, if the customer infrastructure allows.

Duties

Service and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 based IT systems. Operate remotely to identify and repair both emergency and chronic problems concerned with uptime, security, throughput, connectivity, and general efficiency. Excellent sensitivity and telephony-based communications skills.

Set up and configure Microsoft Windows-powered application servers and Microsoft .NET servers. Configure and deploy Microsoft Windows 2K, 2003, Vista and Microsoft Windows XP desktop systems. Install and analyze a variety of information services and applications.

Plan and deploy information technology infrastructures and security strategies to align with customer's business plans.

Support and manage Outlook with backoffice Microsoft Exchange server, Office applications, telephony, and fast Internet access.

Design and implement migrations to Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows Exchange 2003.

Maximize system availability and throughput through non-stop design, smart system architecture, and automated server monitoring.

Create on-going documentation of the environment as it evolves.

Specify and procure new server and communications hardware and/or software to support client's business success and to host additional programs.


Experience/
Education

Required Professional Experience
Seven years background in workstation and server administration new software installation, hardware setup, problem identification and resolution).

Proven network repair and analysis skills, knowledge to deploy fast workarounds to technical issues.

Background in business program help (Windows family products).

Experience in a range of customer infrastructures.

Familiarity with offsite network monitoring tools and offsite troubleshooting methodologies.

Demonstrated talent to work effectively in a virtual office environment, delivering consistent follow-up and using offsite connectivity and wireless access technology.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effectiveness when operating in a group project.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Works independently and shows pronounced sense of responsibility and initiative.

Education/Certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Cisco Accreditation (CCIE, CCNA, CCDA or equivalent).

Two-year degree in information technology, or equivalent field work.
