Main Functions

Assist a range of small business clients to maintain IT networks online, using state-of-the-art tools such as rules-based diagnostics and virtual office connections. Cooperate closely via phone with client's IT staff to offer complete IT outsourcing. Key areas of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, protection, server monitoring, and network architecture. The Senior Remote Support Specialist will resolve software problems including desktop program integration issues, server trouble, data service problems, and connectivity issues, without onsite access, as long as the customer environment allows.

Clients, technical resources, and manufacturers/publishers


Responsibilities

Support and repair Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 based IT systems. Operate online to identify and resolve both emergency and lingering problems concerned with uptime, protection, performance, connectivity, and overall efficiency. Well-developed sensitivity and telephony-based communications skills.

Install and integrate Microsoft Windows-based application servers and .NET hosts. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 2K, 2003, Vista and Microsoft Windows XP desktop environments. Install and evaluate a variety of IT services and programs.

Design and build information technology architectures and security approaches to align with customer's corporate goals.

Service and manage Outlook clients with back-end Exchange server, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and high-speed Internet connections.

Design and perform upgrades to Windows XP and Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Exchange Server.

Optimize network availability and performance through fault-tolerant design, smart system architecture, and automated server monitoring.

Create on-going documentation of the environment as it changes.

Specify and order new server and communications hardware and/or software in order to promote client's business success and to host new programs.


Qualifications/
Education

Minimum Professional Background
Seven years experience in workstation and server administration new program installation, hardware setup, problem identification and resolution).

Strong technical repair and analysis capability, knowledge to implement fast resolutions to technical issues.

Background in business program support (Microsoft products in a variety of customer environments.

Familiarity with offsite network monitoring utilities and offsite repair techniques.

Proven talent to work efficiently in a virtual office environment, providing reliable follow-up and using remote access and wireless access tools.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Effectiveness when operating in a team environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Operates independently and shows strong sense of ownership and initiative.

Education
Microsoft MCSE.

Cisco Systems certification (CCIE, CCNA, CCDA or equivalent).

2-year degree in information science, or equivalent field work.
