Essential Functions

Help a variety of small and midsize business clients to support computer networks remotely, using state-of-the-art technology including automated monitoring and virtual office connections. Work extensively via telephony with customer's IS group to offer complete IT outsourcing. Vital fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, protection, network monitoring, and system infrastructure. The Senior Remote Service Engineer will troubleshoot software problems including PC application compatibility issues, server problems, data service problems, and connectivity issues, without physical presence, as long as the client infrastructure permits.

Duties

Service and repair Windows powered IT networks. Work online to identify and resolve both urgent and lingering problems concerned with availability, security, throughput, connectivity, and overall functionality. Well-developed empathy and phone-based communications skills.

Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows-based .NET servers. Set up and deploy Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Windows 8.1 and older workstation environments. Install and analyze various information services and programs.

Plan and build IT infrastructures and security approaches to support client's business goals.

Service and administer Outlook with backoffice Exchange host, Microsoft Office suite, phone communications, and high-speed Internet access.

Design and perform upgrades to Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Windows Exchange 2016.

Maximize network uptime and performance through fault-tolerant design, efficient system infrastructure, and proactive network monitoring.

Produce on-going documentation of the environment as it evolves.

Spec out and order new server and network equipment and/or software to support client's business success and to support additional applications.


Experience/
Schooling

Required Work Background
Seven years background in desktop and server administration new software installation, machine configuration, problem isolation and repair.

Strong technical troubleshooting and analysis capability, ability to implement fast resolutions to technical problems.

Experience in business program help Microsoft family products.

Background in a range of customer environments.

Experience with remote server monitoring utilities and offsite troubleshooting techniques.

Proven ability to operate effectively in a virtual office infrastructure, delivering consistent follow-up and utilizing remote connectivity and mobile access tools.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Accustomed to working in a group environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Operates unsupervised and demonstrates pronounced characteristics of responsibility and initiative.

Education/Certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Cisco Accreditation (CCIE, CCNA, CCDA or equivalent).

Two-year degree in information technology, or equivalent field work.
