Primary Activities

Work with a variety of small company clients to support computer systems online, using state-of-the-art technology including rules-based diagnostics and remote management cards. Cooperate extensively via telephony with customer's IT group to offer comprehensive outsourced services. Vital areas of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, protection, server monitoring, and network infrastructure. The Senior Online Service Specialist will troubleshoot application problems such as desktop program integration issues, server trouble, data access problems, and Internet connection issues, without onsite presence, as long as the client environment permits.

Responsibilities

Support and troubleshoot Windows 2K, 2003, and Windows 7 powered IT networks. Work online to identify and repair both emergency and chronic issues related to uptime, security, throughput, access, and general functionality. Excellent empathy and telephony-based communications skills.

Install and configure Windows-based application servers and Microsoft .NET hosts. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP workstation systems. Setup and evaluate various IT services and programs.

Plan and deploy information technology architectures and protection approaches to support client's corporate goals.

Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with back-end Exchange server, Microsoft Office applications, telecom, and broadband Internet connections.

Plan and implement migrations to Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Exchange Server.

Maximize system availability and throughput through zero-downtime configuration, smart system infrastructure, and proactive network monitoring.

Produce on-going documentation of the environment as it evolves.

Spec out and procure new server and network hardware and/or software to support client's business growth and to support additional programs.


Qualifications/
Schooling

Required Professional Background
7 years background in workstation and server administration new software integration, machine setup, problem identification and resolution).

Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, knowledge to deploy quick workarounds to integration problems.

Experience in professional program support (Microsoft products in a range of customer environments.

Familiarity with offsite server monitoring utilities and remote troubleshooting methodologies.

Proven talent to operate efficiently in a virtual office environment, delivering consistent follow-up and utilizing remote connectivity and mobile connectivity tools.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Effectiveness when working in a team environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Works unsupervised and shows strong sense of ownership and initiative.

Education/Certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Cisco Accreditation (CCDA, CCIE or similar).
