Essential Activities

Work with a range of small and midsize company clients to maintain information networks remotely, using advanced tools including rules-based diagnostics and virtual office connections. Work closely via phone with client's IS group to offer complete IT outsourcing. Vital fields of expertise include Exchange and Outlook, Active Directory, security, server monitoring, and system architecture. The Sr. Online Support Specialist will resolve application problems including PC program compatibility issues, server problems, data service problems, and Internet connection issues, without physical access, if the customer environment permits.

Client Support, Market Development Managers and other consultants

Customers, technical resources, and manufacturers/publishers


Duties

Support and troubleshoot Windows 2000/2003 based IT systems. Work remotely to diagnose and repair both emergency and chronic problems related to uptime, security, performance, connectivity, and general efficiency. Well-developed sensitivity and telephony-based people skills.

Install and integrate Windows-based application servers and .NET hosts. Configure and deploy Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP workstation systems. Install and analyze various IT services and programs.

Plan and build information technology infrastructures and security approaches to align with client's corporate plans.

Support and administer Outlook clients with back-end Exchange server, Office suite, telecom, and fast Internet access.

Design and implement upgrades to Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Exchange Server.

Maximize system availability and performance by means of zero-downtime configuration, efficient system architecture, and automated server monitoring.

Produce on-going documentation of the system as it evolves.

Specify and order updated server and communications hardware and/or software to promote client's business growth and to support additional applications.


Experience/
Education

Minimum Work Experience
Seven years background in workstation and server management new software integration, hardware configuration, problem identification and resolution).

Proven network repair and diagnostic skills, ability to deploy quick resolutions to integration problems.

Background in business program support (Windows products in a variety of client environments.

Experience with remote server monitoring utilities and remote repair methodologies.

Proven talent to work effectively in a virtual office environment, delivering reliable follow-through and utilizing offsite connectivity and mobile access tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effectiveness when operating in a group environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Works unsupervised and demonstrates pronounced characteristics of responsibility and motivation.

Education/Certification
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Cisco Accreditation (CCDA, CCIE or similar).

2-year degree in information technology, or equivalent experience.
