Primary Functions

Assist a variety of small and midsize company customers to support IT networks remotely, utilizing state-of-the-art tools such as automated monitoring and remote management cards. Cooperate extensively via telephony with client's IT staff to offer comprehensive outsourced services. Key areas of in-depth knowledge include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, protection, network monitoring, and system infrastructure. The Expert Online Service Engineer will resolve software problems including desktop program compatibility issues, server problems, data service problems, and connectivity problems, without onsite presence, if the customer infrastructure permits.

Responsibilities

Support and repair Windows 2K, 2003, and Windows 7 powered IT systems. Work remotely to diagnose and repair both emergency and lingering problems concerned with availability, protection, throughput, connectivity, and overall efficiency. Well-developed sensitivity and telephony-based communications skills.

Set up and integrate Windows-based program servers and .NET servers. Set up and deploy Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP workstation environments. Install and evaluate various information services and programs.

Plan and deploy information technology infrastructures and security strategies to support customer's business goals.

Support and manage Outlook clients with backoffice Exchange host, Microsoft Office suite, telecom, and broadband Internet connections.

Design and perform migrations to Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows Exchange 2003.

Optimize system availability and throughput through fault-tolerant configuration, smart network infrastructure, and automated server monitoring.

Create on-going documentation of the environment as it changes.

Spec out and order updated server and network hardware and/or software to support customer's business success and to support new applications.


Qualifications/
Schooling

Required Work Background
Seven years background in workstation and server administration new software installation, machine configuration, problem identification and repair).

Strong technical repair and diagnostic skills, ability to deploy fast resolutions to technical problems.

Experience in professional software support (Windows products in a range of client infrastructures.

Familiarity with remote network monitoring utilities and remote troubleshooting techniques.

Demonstrated talent to operate efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, providing reliable follow-through and utilizing remote access and wireless connectivity tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Effectiveness when working in a group environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Operates independently and demonstrates pronounced characteristics of ownership and initiative.

Schooling
Microsoft MCSE.

Cisco certification (CCIE, CCNA, CCDA or equivalent).

2-year degree in information technology, or equivalent experience.
