Essential Activities

Help a range of small and midsize business clients to support IT systems remotely, using state-of-the-art tools such as rules-based diagnostics and virtual office connections. Cooperate extensively via telephony with customer's IS staff to provide complete outsourced services. Crucial areas of expertise include Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, security, network monitoring, and network infrastructure. The Sr. Online Service Engineer will resolve application problems including PC application compatibility issues, server trouble, data service issues, and Internet connection issues, without physical presence, if the customer environment allows.

Duties

Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 based IT networks. Operate online to identify and repair both emergency and lingering problems concerned with availability, protection, throughput, connectivity, and overall functionality. Excellent sensitivity and telephony-based communications skills.

Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows-based program servers and .NET hosts. Set up and integrate Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Windows XP desktop environments. Setup and analyze a variety of information services and programs.

Design and build IT architectures and security approaches to align with customer's business goals.

Support and administer Microsoft Outlook with backoffice Exchange server, Office applications, telecom, and fast Internet access.

Plan and perform migrations to Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Exchange Server.

Maximize network availability and throughput by means of non-stop configuration, efficient network architecture, and proactive server monitoring.

Create updated documentation of the environment as it evolves.

Specify and order new server and network equipment and/or software to promote client's business success and to support additional programs.


Experience/
Schooling

Minimum Professional Background
Seven years background in workstation and server administration new software integration, hardware setup, problem identification and resolution).

Proven network repair and diagnostic skills, ability to deploy quick workarounds to technical issues.

Experience in business software support (Windows products in a variety of customer infrastructures.

Familiarity with remote network monitoring utilities and offsite repair methodologies.

Proven talent to work effectively in a virtual office environment, delivering reliable follow-up and utilizing remote connectivity and wireless access tools.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Accustomed to operating in a team environment.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Works independently and shows pronounced characteristics of ownership and initiative.

Education
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Cisco Systems Accreditation (CCDA, CCNA, CCDP, CCIP, CCNP, CCSP or CCIE).

Two-year degree in computer technology, or equivalent work background.
