Primary Functions

Help a variety of small and midsize company clients to maintain computer networks online, utilizing state-of-the-art technology including rules-based diagnostics and virtual office connections. Cooperate extensively via telephony with customer's IS staff to offer comprehensive outsourced services. Key areas of expertise include Exchange-based email, Active Directory, security, network monitoring, and system infrastructure. The Expert Online Service Engineer will resolve software problems including PC application compatibility issues, server trouble, data service problems, and connectivity problems, without onsite presence, as long as the customer infrastructure allows.

Responsibilities

Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 powered information networks. Work online to identify and resolve both urgent and chronic issues concerned with uptime, protection, performance, access, and general functionality. Well-developed empathy and phone-based communications skills.

Install and integrate Microsoft Windows-powered application servers and .NET servers. Configure and integrate Microsoft Windows 2K, 2003, Vista and Windows XP workstation environments. Setup and evaluate various IT services and applications.

Plan and deploy IT architectures and protection strategies to support customer's business goals.

Service and manage Outlook with back-end Exchange host, Office applications, telecom, and fast Internet access.

Design and perform migrations to Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Exchange 2003.

Maximize system uptime and performance by means of non-stop configuration, efficient network infrastructure, and proactive server monitoring.

Create on-going records of the system as it changes.

Specify and procure new server and network hardware and/or software to promote client's business growth and to support additional applications.


Experience/
Education

Minimum Work Experience
Seven years background in desktop and server management new software installation, machine setup, problem identification and repair).

Proven network troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, ability to deploy fast resolutions to technical issues.

Background in business program support (Windows products in a variety of customer infrastructures.

Experience with remote server monitoring tools and remote repair techniques.

Proven talent to work efficiently in a virtual office infrastructure, providing reliable follow-through and using remote access and wireless access technology.

Strong verbal and written communication ability.

Effectiveness when working in a team project.

Demonstrated dedication and commitment to providing continuous operations.

Operates unsupervised and demonstrates strong sense of responsibility and motivation.

Schooling
Microsoft MCSE.

Cisco Accreditation (CCDA, CCIE or similar).

2-year degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
