Cisco Introduces Security and Networking Solutions for Small Businesses
Cisco announced new solutions intended especially for small business networks and engineered to provide a high degree of protection and connectivity for an affordable price. Solutions introduced by Cisco included Cisco's Spam and Virus Blocker, Cisco's Small Business series NSS2000 and NSS3000 Network Storage Systems, and the latest version of the Smart Business Communications System.

Microsoft's Steve Balmer Previews Microsoft Windows 7
During a keynote speech at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, Microsoft's Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer introduced the beta version of Windows 7. The beta version of Windows was available for a limited time for testing at select sites. During the presentation, Balmer showed innovative features and important enhancements incorporated into Windows and inspired by consumer feedback. Aspects addressed by Windows 7, stated Balmer, include speed, protection, reliability, functionality, energy efficiency, and ease of use. Microsoft Windows 7 features quicker initialization, shut down, and wakeup from sleep mode; no-hassle networking and resource sharing; consolidated device administration; as well as advanced touch-screen support.
