BlackBerry Introduces BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express
RIM BlackBerry recently released BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express (BESX), offering FREE software and Client Access Licenses (CALs) while providing the core connectivity, security, and administration capabilities of RIM BlackBerry Enterprise Server such as over-the-air synchronization and remote availability of data and programs. But the price cuts don't stop at free server software and CAL licenses. Customers now get the ability to select the BlackBerry Internet Service data plan instead of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server data carrier plan, saving your business $10-$20 a month for each of your BlackBerry clients!
RIM BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express can be deployed directly on an Exchange or SBS server, which can handle as many as 75 clients, or on a dedicated server which can support up to 2,000 users. RIM BlackBerry BES Server Express is a great alternative for small- and medium-sized organizations who until now couldn't financially justify connecting employees' BlackBerry devices to the corporate IT system.
The Express version of RIM BlackBerry BES Server does not provide high availability, system monitoring, database mirroring, or desktop phone integration and reduces the number of available policies from 450 to 35.
