The Aironet 1810 includes Dual 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, features 2x2 MIMO technology with two spatial streams, and supports a combined data rate of 867-Mbps and a maximum client count of 400. The Aironet 1810 comes with three local GE ports including one with Power over Ethernet (PoE) Out for powering a device such as a printer or security camera, one uplink GE port, and one pass-through RJ45 port. The Cisco Aironet 1810 OfficeExtend Series AP is a Wave 2 802.11ac unit that includes a mounting cradle and is designed to provide secure wireless connectivity for remote workers and small office branch employees. Cisco Aironet 1815 Series WiFi access points are value-priced, compact Wave 2 APs intended for small and medium-size networks. The four models in the series are designed to handle different use cases. The 1815i access point provides mounting options for installing on a wall or ceiling. The Cisco Aironet 3800 Series AP is designed for large offices or warehouses that experience high densities of wireless usage. The Wave 2 device supports 4x4 MU-MIMO and three spatial streams and its dual radios can operate in 2.4-GHz/5-GHz mode or in Dual 5-GHz 802.11ac mode, allowing up to 5.2 Gbps (2 x 2.6 Gbps) wireless throughput. The Aironet 3800 can support up to 400 clients, allows160 MHz channels, and includes a Multigigabit and a GE Ethernet port.
Cisco's Aironet 4800 AP, intended for large enterprises looking for high throughput and advanced security, is the top-of-the-line indoor AP in the Aironet series. The Aironet 4800 features 4x4 MU-MIMO with three spatial streams and supports up to 400 clients. Interfaces include a multigigabit port, a GE port, and a BLE radio. Because the Aironet 4800 AP has four radios, the device can spread basic Aironet functions among more radios so they can run simultaneously. One radio is dedicated exclusively to security. Having four radios also makes it possible for the two Wi-Fi radios outfitted with Flexible Radio Assignment to run in 5 GHz client serving mode, supporting 5.2 Gbps Wi-Fi performance for high-density situations.
Cisco Aironet Wave 1 802.11ac Indoor Wireless Access Points
The 802.11ac standard operates exclusively in the 5-GHz band, utilizes 80-MHz channels for higher performance, and allows Wi-Fi radios to use spectrum more efficiently, transmit data faster, and relinquish spectrum more quickly than preceding Wi-Fi standards.
