The Cisco Meraki MR20 is an entry-level Wave 2 wireless access point intended for small office or home office (SOHO) use. The cloud-managed access point has 2x2:2 MU-MIMO with two spatial streams and supports up to 1.3 Gbps combined performance with 866 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps data rates in the 2.4 GHz band. The MR20 AP features Meraki's Air Marshal wireless intrusion prevention system for threat detection and resolution. The access point has one 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet RJ45 port but does not have a BLE radio. The MR20 AP is desktop, ceiling, or wall mountable.
The Meraki MR42 access point is an 802.11ac Wave 2 AP for performance-critical and/or crowded wireless LANs. The MR42 supports 3×3:3 MU-MIMO with beamforming, provides a top transmission rate of 1.9 Gbit/sec, includes a 1 GigE port, and has an integrated BLE radio that provides scanning and Beaconing. The Cisco Meraki MR52 is a high-speed 802.11ac Wave 2 AP designed for high-density campus and enterprise venues. The 4-radio MR52 offers 4×4 MU-MIMO technology with four spatial streams and beamforming, handles wireless data rates as high as 2.5 Gbps, supports 160 MHz channels, includes two 1 GigE interfaces, and features a Bluetooth radio. Cisco's Meraki MR53 Wi-Fi AP offers the same specs as the MR52 but includes a single GbE interface plus a 2.5 Gbps Multigigabit Ethernet interface.
The Cisco Meraki MR30H access point is a wall switch unit designed for hospitality or dormitory venues and uses 2x2 MU-MIMO Wave 2 technology. The access point has a built-in 4-port GbE switch, and a Bluetooth BLE radio for beaconing and scanning functions. The MR30H provides aggregate performance as high as 1.3 Gbps with simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. Cisco's Meraki MR33 is a general-purpose access point that can be deployed in offices, schools, health care facilities, retail stores and other busy environments. The MR33 has the same feature set as the MR30H access point but is packaged in a slim housing and does not include a integrated 4-port GbE switch.
Legacy Meraki Indoor Wi-Fi APs
Cisco's Meraki MR18 AP, which has been discontinued, is a wall or desktop mountable 802.11n compatible unit that can deliver combined performance of up to 600 Mbps with its two 2x2:2 MIMO radios. This no-frills Wi-Fi AP is intended for use in moderate density environments. The Meraki MR32 is a wall, ceiling or desktop Wi-Fi access point featuring a 5 GHz 2x2:2 802.11ac radio and a 2.4 GHz 2x2:2 802.11n radio, delivering a maximum dual-radio frame rate of 1.2 Gbit/s. This device includes a BLE radio for Beaconing and scanning and is designed for high-density venues such as schools, retail stores, and large offices.
The Meraki MR34 access point, which has been discontinued, is a 802.11ac unit that features 3x3 MIMO with 1.75 Gbps throughput. Designed to support high client densities, the MR34 offers 802.af PoE as well as 802.3at PoE+. The MR34 does not include Bluetooth.
Meraki Cloud-managed Outdoor/Industrial Wireless Access Points
Cisco's Meraki outdoor wireless access points are IP67 certified, designed to withstand rugged outdoor environments, and tested to withstand dust particles, shock and moisture. Meraki outdoor APs include a 1 x Gbit Ethernet port and offer advanced features that include cloud-based management with network-wide visibility and control, native Active Directory integration, built-in antivirus scan, single-click guest access and guest isolation firewall, Layer 7 traffic shaping, plus auto-configuring mesh with beamforming.
Cisco's Meraki MR62 is a value-priced, single-radio 802.11n outdoor Wi-Fi, access point that offers 300 Mbit/sec performance and offers a single-radio mesh and VPN tunneling for at-home workers. The mid-range Meraki MR66 Wi-Fi, AP has dual radios, provides a maximum of 600 Mbit/sec aggregate throughput, and features 2x2 MIMO technology, beamforming, and multi-radio mesh. The high-capacity Meraki MR72 is a three-radio Wi-Fi access point that supports data rates as high as 1.2 Gbps with combined 802.11ac and 802.11n 2x2:2 MIMO radios. A separate third radio is devoted to WIDS/WIPS security and RF optimization. The MR72 access point also includes a BLE radio for Beaconing and BLE scanning. The ultra-fast Meraki MR84 is a 4-radio outdoor AP designed to handle challenging, high-density RF environments like a stadium or other outdoor venue. The MR84 includes 4×4:4 MU-MIMO technology, 160 MHz channels, a GbE port and a Multigigabit interface, and a built-in BLE radio.
