Meraki Indoor Wave 2 Wi-Fi Access Points
Meraki's portfolio of Wave 2 dual-band indoor APs includes low-cost devices for general use as well as high-end Wi-Fi Access Points that deliver performance as fast as 2.5 Gbps. All Cisco Meraki indoor APs offer advanced functions like self-setup for fast installation, integrated data protection and performance analytics, automatic patching, and unified cloud management for wireless environments of any size, from a single site to distributed wireless networks. Meraki indoor access points also feature radios with enhanced receive sensitivity plus a proprietary wireless intrusion detection and prevention system (wIDS/wIPS) with a specialized radio for RF analysis and on-the-fly packet inspection.
Other features of the Meraki line of indoor access points include a Gigabit Ethernet port, 802.3af PoE compatibility, hardware-accelerated encryption, wireless IPs, zero-configuration mesh routing, single-click secure guest access with a guest isolation firewall, customizable splash pages, an integrated policy firewall for in-depth group or device-based access control, integrated antivirus, WPA2-Enterprise authentication with Active Directory integration, Layer 7 traffic shaping for favoring or throttling specified classes of applications, plus MIMO and built-in beam forming to support crowded environments without sacrificing coverage.
The Cisco Meraki MR20 is an entry-level Wave 2 Wi-Fi access point intended for small office or home office deployments. The cloud-managed access point has 2x2:2 MU-MIMO technology with two spatial streams and delivers up to 1.3 Gbps combined throughput with 866 Mbps data rates in the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band. The Meraki MR20 AP includes Meraki's Air Marshal wireless intrusion prevention system for threat detection and resolution. The AP has one 10/100/1000 BASE-T RJ45 connection but not a Bluetooth radio. The MR20 AP is desktop, ceiling, or wall mountable.
The Cisco Meraki MR42 AP is an 802.11ac Wave 2 AP for performance-critical and/or high-density Wi-Fi LANs. The MR42 features 3×3:3 MU-MIMO technology with beamforming, delivers a top data rate of 1.9 Gbit/sec, includes a 1 GigE interface, and has an integrated Bluetooth radio that provides scanning and Beaconing. The Meraki MR52 is a high-speed 802.11ac Wave 2 access point intended for high-density campus and enterprise environments. The 4-radio MR52 uses 4×4 MU-MIMO with four spatial streams and beamforming, delivers wireless data rates of up to 2.5 Gbps, works with 160 MHz channels, comes with two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, and features a Bluetooth radio. Cisco's Meraki MR53 Wi-Fi access point offers the same specs as the Meraki MR52 but has one Gigabit Ethernet interface plus a 2.5 Gbps Multigigabit Ethernet port.
The Cisco Meraki MR30H access point is a wall switch device intended for hotel rooms or dormitory venues and uses 2x2 MU-MIMO Wave 2 technology. The access point has a built-in 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch, and a Bluetooth BLE radio for beaconing and scanning. The MR30H delivers combined performance as high as 1.3 Gbps with concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios. Cisco's Meraki MR33 is a versatile AP suitable for offices, schools, health care facilities, shops and other active environments. The Meraki MR33 has the same feature set as the Meraki MR30H AP but is encased in a low-profile housing and does not include a built-in 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch.
Legacy Cisco Meraki Indoor Wireless APs
The Cisco Meraki MR18 AP, which is at end-of-life status, is a wall or desktop mountable 802.11n device that can deliver combined data rates of up to 600 Mbps with its concurrent 2x2:2 MIMO radios. This no-frills wireless AP is designed for general-purpose use in low to moderate density venues. Cisco's Meraki MR32 is a wall, ceiling or desktop wireless AP with a 5 GHz 2x2:2 802.11ac radio and a 2.4 GHz 2x2:2 802.11n radio, delivering a top dual-radio frame rate of 1.2 Gbit/s. This access point comes with a BLE radio for Beaconing and BLE scanning and is intended for high-density venues such as schools, hotels, and enterprise offices.
The Meraki MR34 access point, which is at end-of-life status, is a Wave 1 device that uses 3x3 MIMO with 1.75 Gbps throughput and band steering. Designed to handle high density environments, the MR34 offers 802.af PoE and 802.3at PoE+. The Meraki MR34 does not include BLE.
Cisco Meraki Cloud-managed Outdoor/Industrial Wireless APs
Meraki outdoor APs are IP67 rated, designed to withstand rugged outdoor conditions, and tested to withstand dust particles, vibration and moisture. Cisco's Meraki outdoor access points include a Gigabit Ethernet port and deliver advanced features such as cloud management with network-wide visibility and control, 802.1X integration, built-in antivirus scan, single-click guest access and isolation firewall, application-aware traffic shaping, plus auto-configuring mesh with MIMO.
Cisco's Meraki MR62 is a value-priced, single-radio 802.11n outdoor wireless, AP that offers 300 Mbit/sec throughput and features a single-radio mesh and VPN connectivity for at-home workers. Cisco's mid-range Meraki MR66 wireless, AP features dual radios, provides a maximum of 600 Mbit/sec combined performance, and features 2x2 MIMO technology, beamforming, and multi-radio mesh. Cisco's high-performance Meraki MR72 is a three-radio Wi-Fi access point that delivers throughput of up to 1.2 Gbps with combined 802.11ac and 802.11n 2x2:2 MIMO radios. A separate third radio is dedicated to WIDS/WIPS security and RF optimization. The MR72 access point also incorporates a BLE radio for Beaconing and BLE scanning. The ultra-fast Meraki MR84 is a 4-radio outdoor AP engineered to handle difficult, high-density RF environments such as a stadium or other outdoor site. The MR84 includes 4×4:4 MU-MIMO technology, 160 MHz channels, a GbE interface and a Multigigabit port, and an integrated BLE radio.
