Essential Responsibilities
Activities
- Support and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered IT environments
- Work onsite and online to identify and fix both urgent and ongoing problems related to reliability, security, capacity, connectivity, and general functionality
- Install, setup and debug apps on Microsoft Windows Servers
- Deploy and configure Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
- Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
- Design IT topologies including virtualized environments and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud models
- Maintain and manage Microsoft Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office suite, telephony, and Internet connectivity
- Plan and carry out updates to Microsoft desktop operating system, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange
- Develop and test protection policies such as on-premises high availability, fault tolerance, backup/restore and AV plus offsite or cloud-centric disaster recovery
- Efficient network design and proactive server monitoring
- 10+ years experience in desktop, server administration and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, machine setup, problem identification and repair)
- 5+ years consulting background
- Ability to debug software application issues including desktop PC program compatibility issues, server issues, data service problems, and connectivity problems
- Background in business software assistance (Microsoft products)
- Proven ability to work effectively in a virtual office environment, providing consistent follow-up and taking advantage remote access and mobile communication technology
- Works without supervision and demonstrates high level of responsibility and drive
- Possess a reasonable understanding of networking layers L1-L7 and strong debugging skills in layers 1 through 4
