Progent is seeking experienced Senior Microsoft computer consultants in the NY Metro Area, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh PA to assist a variety of small and midsize businesses to manage IT environments powered by Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012, 2008, and Microsoft Exchange 2007 through 2019. Important fields of knowledge include system architecture, Active Directory design and troubleshooting, Exchange-based email, security, and server monitoring.

Essential Activities
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered IT environments
- Operate on premises and remotely to identify and resolve both urgent and ongoing problems related to reliability, protection, capacity, accessibility, and general productivity
- Install, configure and troubleshoot apps on Windows Servers
- Deploy and integrate Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
- Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
- Design information technology architectures including virtualized infrastructures and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud models
- Support and administer Microsoft Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office and Office 365, phone communications, and Internet access
- Design and implement updates to Microsoft desktop OS, Windows Server, AD, and Microsoft Exchange Server
- Develop and validate protection policies including onsite high availability, fault tolerance, backup/restore and anti-virus plus offsite or cloud-based disaster recovery
- Efficient system design and 24x7 health monitoring
- 10+ years background in desktop, server administration and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, machine provisioning, problem isolation and repair)
- 5+ years consulting background
- Ability to debug software application issues such as workstation program compatibility problems, server problems, data service issues, and connectivity issues
- Background in business application assistance (Microsoft products)
- Proven ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office setting, delivering reliable follow-through and utilizing remote access and mobile communication technology
- Operates without supervision and demonstrates strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Has a working understanding of network layers 1 through 7 and excellent debugging skills in layers 1 through 4
