Progent is seeking experienced Senior Microsoft information technology consultants in the NY Metro Area, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh PA to help a range of small and midsize businesses to manage IT environments based on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012, 2008, and Exchange 2007 to 2019. Key areas of expertise include network infrastructure, AD design and repair, Exchange-based messaging, security, and server monitoring.

Activities
- Support and repair Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered networks
- Work on premises and remotely to analyze and fix urgent and ongoing issues associated with availability, protection, capacity, accessibility, and general functionality
- Install, configure and troubleshoot applications on Microsoft Windows Servers
- Install and configure Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
- Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
- Plan IT architectures including virtualized infrastructures and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud designs
- Support and administer Microsoft Outlook client with back office Exchange, MS Office suite, phone communications, and Internet access
- Plan and implement upgrades to MS desktop OS, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange Server
- Design and test protection policies such as onsite high availability, resilience, backup/restore and anti-virus plus offsite or cloud-centric disaster recovery
- Robust system design and 24x7 health monitoring
- 10+ years experience in PC, server administration and network Infrastructure support (new software deployment, machine setup, problem identification and resolution)
- 5+ years consulting background
- Ability to debug software application problems such as workstation program compatibility problems, server issues, data service issues, and access problems
- Experience in business productivity application support (Microsoft products)
- Proven ability to operate efficiently in a virtual office setting, providing consistent follow-up and utilizing online access and mobile communication technology
- Works without supervision and shows strong sense of ownership and initiative
- Possess a working understanding of network layers 1 through 7 and excellent troubleshooting skills in layers 1 through 4
