Progent is looking for experienced Senior Microsoft information technology consulting experts in the NY Metro Area, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh PA to help a variety of small businesses to manage IT environments based on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012, 2008, and Exchange 2007 to 2019. Important fields of knowledge include system architecture, AD design and repair, Exchange-based messaging, security, and server monitoring.

Main Activities
Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered networks
- Work on premises and remotely to analyze and fix both urgent and ongoing problems associated with availability, protection, capacity, connectivity, and general functionality
- Deploy, configure and debug apps hosted on Microsoft Windows Servers
- Deploy and configure Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7
- Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
- Plan information technology architectures including virtualized infrastructures and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud models
- Maintain and administer MS Outlook client with back office Exchange, Microsoft Office suite, telephony, and Internet access
- Design and carry out upgrades to MS desktop operating system, Windows Server, AD, and Exchange Server
- Design and test security policies including on-premises high availability, fault tolerance, backups and anti-virus plus remote or cloud-centric disaster recovery
- Efficient network design and proactive server monitoring
- 10+ years background in desktop, server administration and IT Infrastructure support (new software installation, device provisioning, problem identification and repair)
- 5+ years consulting experience
- Ability to troubleshoot software application issues including workstation software compatibility issues, server issues, data service problems, and connectivity problems
- Experience in business application support (Microsoft product family)
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a virtual office setting, delivering reliable follow-up and using online access and mobile communication tools
- Works independently and shows high level of ownership and drive
- Has a working knowledge of networking layers L1-L7 and strong debugging capabilities in L1-L4

Progent does not impose a higher rate for off-hours or priority service, and within California or in areas where Progent offers in-person service, Progent does not bill for travel time except for urgent calls where on-site time is less than four hours. Also, Progent imposes no initialization charge and asks no monthly commitment for services delivered during normal working hours. Many service firms impose substantial minimum payments or charge for every quarter hour or longer. Progent's one-minute granularity eliminates big invoices for quick repairs so you won't be tempted to allow minor problems to fester.
