Essential Activities
Activities
- Maintain and repair Windows Server 2016, 2012, 2008-powered IT environments
- Operate onsite and online to analyze and fix urgent and ongoing issues related to reliability, protection, capacity, accessibility, and overall functionality
- Install, configure and troubleshoot applications on Microsoft Windows Servers
- Deploy and integrate Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 desktops and notebooks
- Configure and analyze a variety of network services and applications including AD, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, DFS & NTFRS
- Design IT topologies including virtualized environments and on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid cloud designs
- Maintain and manage MS Outlook client with back office Microsoft Exchange Server, MS Office and Office 365, phone communications, and Internet connectivity
- Design and implement upgrades to Microsoft desktop operating system, Windows Server, AD, and Exchange
- Develop and validate security policies such as on-premises high availability, resilience, backup/restore and anti-virus plus offsite or cloud-centric disaster recovery
- Robust system design and 24x7 server monitoring
- 10+ years background in PC, server management and IT Infrastructure support (new software deployment, machine setup, problem identification and resolution)
- 5+ years consulting background
- Ability to troubleshoot software application issues such as workstation software compatibility problems, server problems, data service issues, and connectivity issues
- Background in business productivity software support (Microsoft product family)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a virtual office setting, providing reliable follow-through and taking advantage online access and mobile connectivity tools
- Operates independently and shows strong sense of responsibility and initiative
- Possess a working understanding of networking layers L1-L7 and excellent troubleshooting capabilities in layers 1 through 4
