Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to assist our customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's client premises in the . Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and laptop computers powered by the latest Microsoft technologies. In addition, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Required Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email
Microsoft operating systems and applications, workstation, laptop and peripheral integration, remote connectivity for teleworkers and mobile users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network administration, including user maintenance
Maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot problems with all versions of Microsoft Windows-powered PC and laptop systems and others as needed.
Work with computer end users in assisting to identify and resolve application and OS problems that impact user productivity
Install, configure and verify a variety of software programs on user workstations
Operate on-site to diagnose and resolve both urgent and persistent issues that reduce the reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and general functionality of desktops, notebooks, printers and other hardware
Install new end-user hardware and perform other deployments, upgrades, and swaps of PCs, notebooks and associated equipment
Provide the timely analysis and remediation of desktops and laptop computers and associated hardware
Remain current with an expert knowledge of PC and laptop computing applications and utilization of WAN technologies including the Internet
Minimum Professional Background Requirements
Three years experience in workstation admin new software configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, trouble analysis and mitigation)
Strong computer debugging and problem isolation skill, talent to implement short-term patches to resolve network issues and escalate support when necessary
In-depth experience delivering software assistance to small organizations for all Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
High-level speaking and written communication skills
Proven commitment to facilitating continuous productivity
Work without supervision and display distinct quality of ownership and drive
