The Experts Team is Progent's way to offer clients the services of specialized computer support professionals who have in-depth skills and work experience in key areas beyond our core focus in system infrastructure and security. Experts Team members are typically independent contractors and sometimes "moonlighters" who have been thoroughly certified by Progent to work closely with our in-house engineers to provide comprehensive, world-class information technology services to small businesses. Progent is continually expanding the Experts Team in order to address the special requirements of our clients.

  • Progent will share special benefits from top vendors including Microsoft and Cisco, including free orlow-cost training classes, web connections to special vendor support tools and technical support resources, and on-line internal use programs for education or demonstration use.
  • You will have the security of backup coverage from Progent's staff consultants and other Expert Team members in the event you are unavailable to respond to client demands due to work schedule conflicts, vacation, sickness, or training.
  • As a 1099 subcontractor to Progent, you get simplified, risk-free invoicing and consistent payment schedules. In addition, Progent is responsible for receivables collection

There is not any fee to be a member of Progent's Experts Group, but Progent has these requirements to join:

  • You need to have a proven background as a consultant operating on your own in your area of expertise, including at least a two year history of completed consulting jobs and/or have an active client base for which you now deliver continuing consulting activity.
  • You should show that you are an expert in your field of concentration, which includes showing a long work-related history and strong referrals, and have up-to-date vendor and/or industry professional qualifications.
  • You have to know how to carry yourself in a professional manner and be self motivated and confident in your skills. You should have excellent inter-personal skills and understand how to operate efficiently alone or as part of a group.
  • You have to be able to explain proper goals to customers and other Progent team members and you need to be able evaluate tasks, create project plans, and estimate reasonable time lines.
