Les Kent, Founder and President
Les Kent has a 35-year track record of successful technology integration, business management, marketing, and operations. During this time he has demonstrated a talent for developing complex computer and network based technical solutions while working as a system architect, software developer, project manager, implementation expert and troubleshooter. Prior to starting Progent, Les was most recently the President of Allin Corporation, a Pittsburgh-based, publicly-traded technology integration company with over 150 employees and offices in four states. As a technical editor of InfoWorld magazine and a member of the magazine's Review Board from 1991 to 1995, Les published 34 reviews and technology articles. Les developed the interactive television systems used in hundreds of hotels worldwide, including the Las Vegas MGM Grand, at the time the world's largest hotel. Les was the technical architect for the application that won Microsoft's "Best Application of the Year Award" in 1996. In 1988 Les designed and developed a real-time multi-tasking operating system deployed worldwide by Siemens AG, Germany, for industrial control systems.
Tony Ciangiarulo, VP Sales
Tony Ciangiarulo has worked in the IT industry for two decades in a variety of positions including technical training, project management, IT consulting, engineering management, sales, and sales management. Immediately prior to joining Progent, Tony was VP of Sales and Services for a technology integration firm and prior to this he delivered technical services for a publicly-traded IT integration company based in Pittsburgh. In the course of Tony's career he has gone from hands-on engineer to his current role in sales and management, and during that time he has earned information technology credentials that include Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), and Citrix Certified Instructor (CCI). Tony's combination of technical expertise and business savvy embodies Progent's commitment to providing our clients with IT solutions that significantly increase the business value of their information networks.
Tom Anderson, VP Consulting Services
Tom Anderson has over 25 years of experience in the computer industry and has set up and managed IT support organizations for global enterprises. Tom has worked with companies of all sizes to develop comprehensive growth strategies aimed at maximizing the business value of information networks. Tom has developed business plans and technology road maps for numerous startups, and he has also consulted with Fortune 500 companies to develop long-term IT strategies and disaster recovery/business continuity plans. Tom has extensive experience with key technologies ranging from ERP and CRM applications to virtualization and fault-tolerant infrastructure and understands the "big picture": how to leverage computer technology to deliver better business outcomes. Tom's rare combination of business sense, technical know-how, and people skills makes him the ideal person to sharpen the focus of Progent's consulting experts on delivering best-of-breed business solutions.
Beverly Katz, VP of Finance
Beverly Katz has over 30 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, including 15 years in the position of Controller. She has worked for non-profit organizations, public and privately owned companies, as well as the military. She assisted 29 California counties with conference budgets, including accurate contract files for each, bookkeeping for over 100 projects, and managed all financial responsibility for two corporations at one time. She has set up company policies and procedures, monthly financial reports, company-wide budgets, audits, cost and expense control, staff management, weekly payroll, responsible for multiple bank accounts, all phases of General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, AP, AR, retirement and HSA accounts, employee health coverage and benefits, Human Resources, personnel files, company insurance, and worked closely with DMV and Preferred Alliance drug programs. Beverly's combination of broad task-relevant expertise, a strong work ethic, team-player and communication skills along with her dedication and commitment personifies the qualities that allow Progent's financial structure and support to run with precision.
