Ubiquiti's UniFi Family of Wi-Fi APs
Ubiquiti's UniFi portfolio of wireless APs includes several product families designed for different applications, physical environments and budgets. Ubiquiti UniFi offers both indoor and outdoor wireless APs, and the series includes desktop, wall-mount and ceiling-mount devices. Ubiquiti's UniFi UAP-AC Line of Wi-Fi Access Points
Ubiquiti's UAP-AC devices are dual-radio, wall-mountable Wi-Fi APs that connect via an Ethernet port and offer MIMO and PoE to work with third-party enterprise switches. The low-profile UAP-AC-Lite is an entry-level 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi access point with a GbE Ethernet interface. The device supports a 2.4 GHz radio speed of 300 Mbps, and 5 GHz radio performance of 867 Mbps. The slim in-wall version UAP-AC-IW plugs directly into an Ethernet wall port and does not have other Ethernet ports. The UAP-AC-LR Wi-Fi AP includes a high-power symmetrical-link antenna for communicating with distant users, offering improved reception for smartphones. The UAP-AC-LR features 3x3 MIMO in the 2.4 GHz band and 2x2 MIMO for 5 GHz. The 2.4 GHz radio delivers as high as 450 Mbps performance, and the 5 GHz radio delivers up to 867 Mbps.
The UniFi UAP-AC-PRO Wi-Fi AP is designed to withstand indirect weather and can be deployed indoors or in a sheltered outdoor environment. The UAP-AC-PRO incorporates two Gigabit Ethernet connections and has 3x3 MIMO in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, delivering data rates up to 450 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz radio and 1,300 Mbps for the 5 GHz radio. The UAP-AC-PRO supports up to 200 client devices. A low-profile in-wall version, UniFi's UAP-AC-IW-PRO, connects directly into an Ethernet wall connection and does not include an additional Ethernet connection. The Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-EDU wireless access point is designed for schools and offers performance the same as the UAP-AC-PRO device but is larger, has only one GbE Ethernet connection, is limited to indoor deployments, and includes a loudspeaker to accommodate a WiFi-based PA system.
UniFi's ultra-compact and high-density UAP-nanoHD indoor access point has 4x4 MU-MIMO technology, delivers 300 Mbps data rates at 2.4 GHz and 1,733 Mbps performance for the 5 GHz radio, handles up to 200 simultaneous users, and has a single GbE Ethernet connection. The UAP-nanoHD is offered in a range of skins to blend with different decors. The UniFi UAP-HD unit is engineered for high-density indoor or outdoor environments. This large-footprint wireless AP offers 4x4 MU-MIMO technology, delivers 800 Mbps performance at 2.4 GHz and 1,733 Mbps data rates for the 5 GHz radio, and supports up to 500 client devices. The UAP-HD includes two connections for 10/100/1000 Ethernet.
UniFi's UAP-AC-M and UAP-AC-M-PRO wireless APs are mesh devices designed for expansive outdoor venues, such as a park, with minimal if any network resources, or for quick deployment/tear down applications like a music festival or fair. Both these mesh access points can handle 250 concurrent client devices. The UAP-AC-M has 2x2 MIMO technology and offers a variety of mounting and antenna options for indoor or outdoor use. The wireless AP offers 300 Mbps data rates for the 2.4 GHz radio and 867 Mbps performance at 5 GHz. The high-performance, weather-resistant UAP-AC-M-PRO AP is designed for outdoor use, delivers 450 Mbps throughput at 2.4 GHz and 1,300 Mbps performance at 5 GHz, and includes a secondary Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Ubiquiti's UniFi XG AP Wi-Fi AP
Ubiquiti's UniFi XG AP is a quad-radio 802.11ac wireless access point designed for very high-density deployments such as a concert hall. The UniFi XG AP has a 4x4 MIMO 2.4 GHz client radio that supports 800 Mbps data rates plus dual 4x4 MIMO 5 GHz radios that deliver 1.733 Gbps throughput. The wireless AP can support 1 simultaneous client devices. A dedicated radio continuously looks for threats such as malicious frames and unauthorized APs. The Spectral Security Radio also scans for the best channel for top performance. The XG AP has a GbE Ethernet backhaul connection and a 1/10 Gbps Ethernet port for bridging, can get its power from an 802.3bt PoE compliant switch, and has a Bluetooth radio.
Ubiquiti UniFi Managed Switches
The UniFi family of managed switches range from 8-port desktop/wall-mount units with 8 Gbps throughput to 48-port rackmount switches that deliver line rates as high as 70 Gbps. UniFi 10G SFP+ aggregation switches offer non-blocking throughput of of 160 Gbps. UniFi switches offer the forwarding ability to manage traffic simultaneously on all ports at line rate without packet loss.
