Ubiquiti's UniFi Family of Wireless APs
Ubiquiti's UniFi series of Wi-Fi access points includes several product families intended for different usage scenarios, physical environments and budgets. Ubiquiti's UniFi UAP-AC Series of Wireless APs
Ubiquiti's UAP-AC products are dual-radio, wall-mountable wireless APs that connect through an Ethernet interface and offer MIMO and 802.3af PoE to support third-party switches. The highly compact UAP-AC-Lite is a value-priced 2x2 MIMO Wi-Fi access point with a GbE Ethernet interface. The AP delivers a 2.4 GHz radio data rate of 300 Mbps, and 5 GHz radio throughput of 867 Mbps. The low-profile in-wall version UAP-AC-IW plugs directly into an Ethernet wall port and does not include additional Ethernet interfaces. The UAP-AC-LR wireless AP includes a high-power symmetrical-link antenna for connecting to distant users, offering improved signal strength for smartphones. The UAP-AC-LR offers 3x3 MIMO in the 2.4 GHz band and 2x2 MIMO in the 5 GHz band. The 2.4 GHz radio supports a max of 450 Mbps performance, and the 5 GHz radio supports a maximum of 867 Mbps.
Ubiquiti has an extensive catalog of UniFi wireless access points and management software
The UAP-AC-PRO Wi-Fi access point is designed to be resistant to indirect weather and can be deployed indoors or in a sheltered outdoor environment. The UniFi UAP-AC-PRO incorporates two 10/100/1000 Ethernet interfaces and has 3x3 MIMO in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, offering data rates up to 450 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz radio and 1,300 Mbps for the 5 GHz radio. The UAP-AC-PRO can handle up to 200 users. A compact in-wall model, the UAP-AC-IW-PRO, plugs directly into an Ethernet wall interface and does not have an additional Ethernet connection. The UAP-AC-EDU wireless AP is intended for classrooms and delivers performance and capacity identical to UniFi's UAP-AC-PRO device but is larger, has only one 10/100/1000 Ethernet connection, is engineered for indoor use, and incorporates a loudspeaker to accommodate a wireless PA system.
The Ubiquiti UniFi low-profile and high-density UAP-nanoHD indoor AP has 4x4 MU-MIMO technology, offers 300 Mbps throughput at 2.4 GHz and 1,733 Mbps throughput for the 5 GHz radio, handles 200 simultaneous users, and includes one GbE Ethernet connection. The UAP-nanoHD is offered in a range of skins to fit in with different decors. UniFi's UAP-HD unit is designed for high-density indoor or outdoor deployments. This large-footprint Wi-Fi AP offers 4x4 MU-MIMO, delivers 800 Mbps throughput at 2.4 GHz and 1,733 Mbps throughput at 5 GHz, and can handle up to 500 users. The UAP-HD includes two connections for GbE Ethernet.
The UAP-AC-M and UAP-AC-M-PRO wireless APs are mesh access points designed for expansive outdoor areas, like a park, with little if any IT infrastructure, or for quick deployment/tear down applications like a music festival or street fair. Both these mesh APs can support more than 250 concurrent client devices. The UAP-AC-M has 2x2 MIMO and offers a variety of mounting and antenna options for indoor or outdoor use. The Wi-Fi access point offers 300 Mbps data rates at 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps data rates at 5 GHz. The high-performance, weather-resistant UAP-AC-M-PRO access point is engineered for outdoor deployments, offers 450 Mbps data rates for the 2.4 GHz radio and 1,300 Mbps performance for the 5 GHz radio, and incorporates a secondary Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Ubiquiti's XG AP Wi-Fi AP
The UniFi XG AP is a quad-radio 802.11ac Wave 2 wireless AP intended for very high-density deployments such as a concert hall. The XG AP has a 4x4 MIMO 2.4 GHz client radio that delivers 800 Mbps data rates plus dual 4x4 MIMO 5 GHz radios that deliver 1.733 Gbps throughput. The wireless access point can handle 1 simultaneous client devices. A dedicated radio continually scans for threats such as malicious frames and rogue access points. The Spectral Security Radio also scans for the most efficient channel for network performance. The UniFi XG AP has a GbE Ethernet backhaul connection and a 1/10 Gbps Ethernet port for bridging, can get its power from an 802.3bt Power-over-Ethernet compliant switch, and has a Bluetooth BLE radio.
UniFi Managed Switches
The Ubiquiti UniFi family of managed switches range from 8-port desktop/wall-mount devices with 8 Gbps data rates to 48-port rackmount units that deliver line rates of 70 Gbps. Ubiquiti UniFi 10G SFP+ aggregation switches can deliver performance of up to 160 Gbps. Ubiquiti UniFi managed switches have the forwarding capacity to process traffic concurrently on all ports at line rate without dropping packets. Ubiquiti UniFi managed switches can provide Power-over-Ethernet power to Wi-Fi access points and other network devices, and can be managed by the same UniFi Controller tools as Ubiquiti UniFi Wi-Fi access points and security gateways.
