Progent is seeking Desktop Support Experts to help our customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at our customer sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and laptop computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with customer's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Required Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email client
Microsoft operating systems and applications, PC desktop, laptop and peripheral integration, offsite access for teleworkers and mobile users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network administration, including user maintenance
Support, diagnose and troubleshoot issues with all releases of Windows-powered desktop and laptop computers and others as required.
Work directly with computer end users in helping to identify and fix app and OS problems that hinder productivity
Install, integrate and test a variety of popular apps on user workstations
Work on-premises to diagnose and resolve both emergency and persistent problems that impact the stability, security, speed, accessibility, and general capability of workstations, laptops, printers and other hardware
Install new end-user hardware and help with other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of workstations, notebooks and associated equipment
Assure the timely analysis and remediation of desktops and laptop computers and related equipment
Remain updated with advanced knowledge of desktop and laptop applications and use of WAN infrastructure including the Internet
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
Three years background in desktop PC admin new software configuration, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and resolution)
Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation skill, talent to install short-term patches to resolve network issues and escalate support when required
Broad experience delivering software help to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows OS, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel
Excellent speaking and written communication skills
Proven dedication to facilitating continuous productivity
Work independently and display distinct characteristics of ownership and drive
