Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to help our customers with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's customer locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and laptop computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT group or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Key Areas of Expertise
Exchange-based Outlook email
Microsoft operating systems and applications, workstation, laptop and peripheral integration, remote access for users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network management, including user maintenance
Support, analyze and troubleshoot issues with all versions of Windows-based PC and laptop systems and others as needed.
Work directly with computer users in assisting to identify and resolve application and operating system problems that disrupt user productivity
Deploy, configure and test a range of software programs on user PCs
Operate on-site to find and fix both urgent and persistent problems that affect the reliability, security, speed, connectivity, and general capability of workstations, notebooks, imaging devices and other hardware
Install new end-user hardware and perform other deployments, upgrades, and exchanges of workstations, laptop computers and related hardware
Provide the timely analysis and repair of desktops and laptop computers and related equipment
Remain up-to-date with an expert knowledge of PC and laptop computing applications and use of WAN technologies including the Internet
Minimum Professional Experience Requirements
Three years experience in workstation admin new program configuration, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and mitigation)
Strong computer debugging and problem isolation skill, talent to install temporary patches to resolve computer issues and escalate support when necessary
In-depth experience providing software assistance to small organizations for all Windows OS, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
High-level speaking and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
Operate without supervision and show marked quality of ownership and motivation
