Progent is looking for Desktop Support Consultants to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's client sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work extensively with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Key Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email client
Microsoft operating systems and applications, PC desktop, laptop and peripheral setup, offsite connectivity for users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network management, including user maintenance
Support, analyze and resolve issues with all versions of Windows-based workstation and notebook systems and others as needed.
Work directly with computer end users in helping to find and fix application and operating system issues that disrupt user productivity
Deploy, integrate and verify a range of applications on user workstations
Work on-site to diagnose and fix both emergency and chronic problems that impact the reliability, security, speed, accessibility, and overall functionality of desktops, notebooks, printers and other hardware
Deploy new end-user hardware and perform other installations, upgrades, and swaps of desktops, laptop computers and related hardware
Provide the prompt diagnosis and repair of PCs and notebooks and related hardware
Remain current with an expert knowledge of desktop and laptop computing applications and utilization of WAN technologies including the Internet
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
Three years experience in desktop PC administration new program setup, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and resolution)
Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation ability, knowledge to install temporary patches to solve computer issues and escalate support services when required
Broad experience providing software assistance to small organizations for all Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Office 365 apps such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
High-level speaking and written communication ability
Proven commitment to facilitating uninterrupted operations
Operate without supervision and show marked characteristics of ownership and motivation
