Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to assist Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting role that will be performed at Progent's client sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and notebook computers powered by current Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of our senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Primary Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email
Microsoft operating systems and applications, workstation, notebook and peripheral setup, remote connectivity for users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network administration, such as user maintenance
Maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot problems with all versions of Windows-based workstation and notebook systems and others as needed.
Work directly with computer users in helping to identify and resolve app and OS problems that disrupt user productivity
Install, integrate and test a variety of popular apps on user PCs
Operate on-premises to find and resolve both urgent and chronic problems that impact the stability, protection, speed, connectivity, and general functionality of desktops, laptops, printers and other end user equipment
Deploy new end-user equipment and help with other installations, upgrades, and exchanges of desktops, notebooks and related hardware
Provide the timely analysis and remediation of desktops and notebooks and associated equipment
Remain current with advanced knowledge of desktop and laptop computing applications and use of connectivity technologies including the Internet
Minimum Professional Background Requirements
Three years experience in workstation administration new software setup, computer and peripheral integration, troubleshooting and mitigation)
Strong computer debugging and problem isolation ability, knowledge to implement short-term patches to solve computer issues and escalate support when required
In-depth background providing software assistance to small organizations for all Windows OS, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
High-level speaking and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to enabling uninterrupted operations
Work without supervision and display distinct characteristics of ownership and motivation
