Progent is looking for Desktop Support Experts to help Progent's clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at our customer sites in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is required, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support users of all desktop and notebook computers based on current Microsoft technologies. Also, work extensively with customer's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the customer's end users.

Primary Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email
Microsoft operating systems and applications, workstation, laptop and peripheral setup, offsite access for users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network management, such as user maintenance
Maintain, diagnose and resolve issues with all releases of Microsoft Windows-powered workstation and notebook systems and others as required.
Work with computer end users in helping to identify and fix application and OS issues that impact user productivity
Install, configure and test a range of popular apps on user PCs
Work on-site to find and fix both emergency and chronic issues that affect the stability, protection, speed, accessibility, and overall capability of desktops, laptops, imaging devices and other end user equipment
Install new end-user hardware and perform other installations, updates, and swaps of workstations, notebooks and related hardware
Provide the timely analysis and repair of desktops and laptop computers and associated equipment
Remain up-to-date with an expert knowledge of desktop and notebook computing applications and utilization of connectivity infrastructure including the Internet
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
Three years experience in desktop PC admin new program configuration, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and correction)
Strong computer troubleshooting and problem isolation ability, talent to implement short-term patches to resolve network issues and escalate support when required
In-depth experience providing software assistance to small companies for all Windows operating systems, Office Suite, and Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent speaking and written communication skills
Proven commitment to facilitating uninterrupted productivity
Operate without supervision and show distinct characteristics of responsibility and motivation
