Progent is seeking Desktop Support Experts to assist our clients with maintenance, break/fix and project work. This is a 1099 consulting position that will be performed at Progent's customer premises in the San Francisco Bay Area. Daytime availability is needed, Monday through Friday. Our consultant will maintain and support clients of all desktop and notebook computers powered by the latest Microsoft technologies. In addition, work closely with client's executives, management, IT staff or under the direction or guidance of Progent's senior consultant to support the client's end users.

Required Areas of Expertise
Microsoft Exchange-based Outlook email
Microsoft software products, PC desktop, notebook and peripheral setup, offsite access for teleworkers and mobile users
Setup and validate Virtual Private Network (VPN) configurations
Basic network management, including user maintenance
Maintain, analyze and resolve problems with all releases of Windows-powered PC and laptop computers and others as required.
Work directly with computer users in helping to find and resolve application and operating system problems that impact user productivity
Deploy, configure and verify a range of popular apps on user PCs
Operate on-premises to find and remediate both urgent and chronic issues that impact the reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and overall functionality of workstations, laptops, printers and other hardware
Deploy new end-user equipment and perform other deployments, updates, and exchanges of PCs, laptop computers and related hardware
Provide the prompt analysis and repair of workstations and notebooks and related equipment
Stay updated with advanced knowledge of desktop and notebook applications and utilization of WAN technologies including the Internet
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
Three years experience in workstation admin new software setup, computer and peripheral deployment, troubleshooting and mitigation)
Strong computer debugging and problem isolation skill, talent to install short-term patches to resolve computer issues and escalate support when required
Broad background providing software help to small organizations for all Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Office 365 programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent speaking and written communication skills
Demonstrated dedication to enabling uninterrupted productivity
Work independently and display marked characteristics of responsibility and motivation
